2017 College Kickoff Return Yards Allowed Leaders
Total return yards gained against a specialist's kickoffs. It reflects his kick and his coverage team.
Lower is better, but volume matters. In 2017, Matthew Wright (1321) led college football kickoff specialists in kickoff return yards allowed, ahead of Matt Ammendola (1184) and Michael Farkas (1127). 225 kickoff specialists qualify.
College rule from 2012 to 2017: a kickoff touchback started the receiving team at its 25, so a touchback was a good result for the kicking team. Kickoff Points Added accounts for the rule, so it is the fair way to compare kickoff specialists across leagues and seasons.
