Each punt's expected-points result compared with an average punt from the same spot on the field, added up over the season. It puts distance, placement, coverage and returns on one scale.

Positive means he gained more than an average punter would from the same spots. In 2017, Michael Dickson (+36.8) led college football punters in punt points added, ahead of Shane Tripucka (+25.4) and Trevor Daniel (+20.6). 125 punters qualify (minimum 30 punts). The median qualified punter had +0.6.
