2026 College Kickoffs Out of Bounds Leaders

A kickoff out of bounds is a penalty and gives the receiving team the ball at the spot or at its 40, so it is a mistake.

Only specialists with at least one appear; fewer is better. In 2026, Hunter McKee (4) led college football kickoff specialists in kickoffs out of bounds, ahead of Braydon Doane (3) and Gage Hurych (3). 88 kickoff specialists qualify. This season is in progress (through Week 7), so the numbers change each week.

College rule: a kickoff touchback, or a fair catch inside the 25, starts the receiving team at its 25, so a touchback is a good result for the kicking team. Kickoff Points Added accounts for the rule, so it is the fair way to compare kickoff specialists across leagues and seasons.
