2018 College Kickoffs Out of Bounds Leaders
A kickoff out of bounds is a penalty and gives the receiving team the ball at the spot or at its 40, so it is a mistake.
Only specialists with at least one appear; fewer is better. In 2018, Sterling Hofrichter (1) led college football kickoff specialists in kickoffs out of bounds, ahead of Clayton Hatfield (1) and Scott Goodman (1). 4 kickoff specialists qualify.
College rule: a kickoff touchback, or a fair catch inside the 25, starts the receiving team at its 25, so a touchback is a good result for the kicking team. Kickoff Points Added accounts for the rule, so it is the fair way to compare kickoff specialists across leagues and seasons.
