What Is a Good College Field Goal Percentage?
Answered with every college field goal in our data, 2011 to 2026.
In the 2025 college season, kickers made 77.3% of field goals. Among the 127 qualified kickers, the median made 80.0%, the top quarter made 85.7% or better and the top tenth 90.5% or better. So a good college field goal percentage is about 86% or higher; an elite one is 90% or higher.
Percentage alone can mislead: a kicker who tries many long kicks will have a lower percentage than one who mostly kicks from close range, even if he is the better kicker. That is why we rank kickers by MAKE (Makes Above Kicks Expected), which credits each make against how hard the kick was.
