How Far Can NFL Kickers Make a Field Goal?
Make rate by distance for every NFL field goal in our data, 2016 to 2026.
NFL kickers make about 70% or more of their tries out to 54 yards. Beyond 55 yards they made 390 of 675 (58%) in our data. The longest make in our data (2016 to 2026) is 68 yards, by Cam Little in 2025.
Range depends on the kicker, the weather and the altitude: the same kick is easier indoors, in warm air and at altitude, and harder into the wind or in the cold. Our MAKE model accounts for all of these.
